Part of the New Holland Operator Manuals.
Setting rear wheel tread for singles, duals or triples is one of the jobs this 473-page New Holland Operator's Manual (OEM ID 87612879) walks through for the five-model T8010 through T8050 tractor range. As a New Holland T8040 operator manual PDF, it also covers PTO, three-point hitch and drawbar setup, remote hydraulics, Zuidberg front hitch use and loader operation. The instrumentation chapter explains programming the cluster display and Operator Adjust menu and reading each warning/fault display, while the Lubrication/Maintenance Chart sets out the service points. Capacities are listed per system. Fill the transmission/hydraulic system to 172 L; engine oil takes 21 L with a filter change. If your tractor shows power hop or wheel slip, the In-Field Performance chapter covers both next to ballasting and tire combinations for FWD tractors. Bookmarked and text-searchable, the pages also print cleanly, so the Lubrication/Maintenance Chart can serve as your working copy during each service.

New Holland T8010–T8050 Series Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland T8010 through T8050 red stop light flashing with ENGINE OIL PRESSURE VERY LOW on display
Shut the engine off immediately and check the oil level, as the Level 1 chart on page 90 directs, then look for other causes. RESET will not clear this warning. Performance clusters shut the engine down 30 seconds after detection. Cycle the key only if the tractor must be moved, because damage can occur. An oil and filter change takes 21L (page 356).
Manual Section: Warning/Fault Displays (Level 1 - Critical) p. 90Coolant gauge light flashing with ENGINE COOLANT TEMP VERY HIGH warning and audible alarm
Shut the engine off immediately, then check coolant level and inspect the radiator for blockage following the Level 1 chart on page 90. If the ENGINE COOLANT TEMP HIGH message appears instead, check coolant level and the air cooler for blockage per page 93, and contact your dealer if it persists. Cooling system capacity is 26.5L (page 356).
Manual Section: Warning/Fault Displays (Level 1 - Critical) p. 90Amber light flashing then staying on with TRANSMISSION CONTROLLER OFF LINE message in display
Check fuses #32, #43 and #44 and replace any that are blown, per the Level 2 chart on page 91. This message means the transmission controller is not communicating over the data bus. Pressing RESET clears the text for 10 minutes, but the amber light stays on with the engine running until the fault is corrected. If the condition persists, contact your dealer.
Manual Section: Warning/Fault Displays (Level 2 - Non-Critical) p. 91BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW warning on display with battery voltage dropping below 11 volts
Check the alternator belt, check battery water level, then test the battery as the Level 3 chart on page 94 lists. Treat every exposed metal part on the batteries as live and never lay a metal object across the terminals (page 425). If VOLTAGE VERY LOW appears, bring the tractor to a complete stop and turn the engine off before checking anything.
Manual Section: Warning/Fault Displays (Level 3 - Service Soon) p. 94WATER IN FUEL warning on the programmable display with amber light and audible alarm
Drain the fuel tank until the fuel runs clear, then drain the water from the fuel filter, following the Level 2 chart on page 93. If the FUEL FILTER BLOCKED message shows up afterward, change the fuel filter at the earliest convenience as the Level 4 chart on page 95 directs.
Manual Section: Warning/Fault Displays (Level 2 - Non-Critical) p. 93Ground speed shown on Performance Instrumentation Cluster does not match GPS indicated speed
Run the Radar Cal automatic mode following page 83: lay out a level, straight 60 meter (197 ft) course, then cross it at a steady 4 mph (6.4 km/h) or faster, pressing INCR at the start line and DECR at the finish. If it shows *FAILED*, repeat it, or use manual mode, where raising the 27.47 default lowers displayed speed.
