Part of the New Holland Operator Manuals.
Brake adjustment and front wheel toe-in both appear on the pre-delivery checklist of this New Holland TC25 operator manual PDF, a 102-page owner's guide (OEM 86588004) for the TC25, TC29 and TC33 compact tractors. A wiring diagram traces the electrical circuits, and the lubrication and maintenance chart shows when each service point comes due, with the recommended lubricants listed for each. Safety precautions and a minimum hardware torque table come first. Controls and instruments, engine starting and driving the tractor are set out in the operation chapter. Hold pre-heat for approximately 10 seconds before starting; the system relief valve is set at 145 bar (2133 PSI), with injection pump timing at 21° BTDC. Your task might be confirming hydraulic lift control, tire pressure and wheel bolt torque during pre-delivery service. Bookmarks and keyword search take you to the brake adjustment check or the engine specifications in seconds.

New Holland TC25, TC29, TC33 Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland TC25 TC29 TC33 temperature light comes on during operation and engine runs hot
Stop the engine immediately when the temperature light comes on, as page 21 directs. Inspect the fan belt for cracking or fraying, then check deflection: 20-25 lbs. (9-11 kg) of thumb pressure midway between pulleys should give 7/16 to 9/16 in. (10-15 mm). To tighten, loosen the alternator mounting bolts with the engine off, never running (page 65), pry the alternator out and retighten. Never remove the thermostat to improve cooling.
Manual Section: Fan Belt Tension Adjustment p. 64Battery charge warning light stays lit with engine running and battery keeps going dead
Investigate the charging system as soon as possible when the battery charge light stays on during operation (page 21), because the battery can fully discharge. After every shutdown, turn the key switch to OFF; page 24 notes the warning lights stay on and drain the battery otherwise. Check electrolyte level with the engine off, with no flame or smoking nearby, and add distilled water if low (page 67).
Manual Section: Battery Charge Warning Light p. 21Engine cranks but will not start after running out of fuel or changing the fuel filter
Fill the tank, open the fuel shutoff valve, and open the bleed screw at the pump until air-free fuel flows, then close it (page 55). Next loosen the injector line fittings, set the hand throttle wide open, crank until air-free fuel flows, and tighten to 18-22 ft. lbs. (24-29 N·m) per page 56. Fuel is under high pressure: check leaks with cardboard, never your hand. Crank no longer than 30 seconds.
Manual Section: Bleeding Air From the Fuel System p. 55Air cleaner inner safety element clogged, engine loses power with excessive black exhaust smoke
Pull the inner safety element and shine a light inside; little or no light means it is clogged and must be replaced, since it cannot be cleaned (page 58). Clean the primary element from inside out with 30 PSI or less, check its inner diameter seals, and replace it if the light test shows paper leaks (page 57). Clean the canister so both elements seal.
Manual Section: Air Cleaner Maintenance p. 58Engine slow to fire on cold mornings even after turning the key to the HEAT position
Hold the key in HEAT for approximately 10 seconds while the cold starting indicator glows, and start only from the operator's seat (page 22). Never use ether with the glow plug starting aid. Do not engage the starter for more than 30 seconds at a time, per page 23. Below 0°F (-17.7°C), ask your dealer about the optional coolant immersion heater.
Manual Section: Operation p. 22Instrument panel gauges and warning lights stay dead with the key switch in ON
Check the fuse block on the right-hand side of the engine compartment firewall (page 69). Fuse 2 (7.5 amp) protects the instrument panel gauges and fuse 3 (7.5 amp) protects the warning lights. If the whole electrical system is dead, check the 30 amp main fuse near the starter on the left-hand side. Replace only with the specified rating; never increase amperage.
Manual Section: Fuse Block p. 69Frequently Asked Questions
How do I adjust the brakes on a New Holland TC29?
To adjust the brakes, loosen the locknut and rotate the brake rod until there is 3/4"-1-3/16" (19 mm-30 mm) of pedal free play. Lengthening the rod increases free play, while shortening it decreases it. Test drive the tractor afterward to ensure braking action is equal on both rear wheels. p. 76
What are the replacement specifications for the fuel filter on a New Holland TC25, TC29, TC33 compact tractor?
The diesel fuel filter should be changed after the first 50 hours of operation, and then every 200 operating hours thereafter. Ensure the shutoff valve is in the 'C' position before removing the sediment bowl to replace the element. p. 54
What are the replacement specifications for the air-cleaner element on the New Holland TC25, TC29, TC33?
The primary air cleaner element should be cleaned after every 100 hours of service. The inner safety element should be replaced every third primary element change or after every 1000 hours of operation, whichever comes first. p. 57
What is the correct valve clearance for the engine on the New Holland TC25, TC29, TC33?
The valve clearance for both intake and exhaust valves on the TC25, TC29, and TC33 models is 0.20 mm (0.008 inches) when cold. p. 83
What is the correct torque for the ROPS mounting bolts on a New Holland TC25, TC29, TC33?
The ROPS mounting bolts must be tightened to a torque of 40 ft. lbs. (54.2 N⋅m). p. 65
