New Holland TD65F, TD75F, TD85F Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland TD75F cranks slowly or starter will not engage at all when engine is hot
Test battery voltage first: you need a full 12 V with at least 70 percent charge before condemning the starter. Bench test the starter motor; no-load current draw must not exceed 60 A. Check armature shaft end play against the 0.5 to 0.8 mm limit on page 440, then clean the ground strap and solenoid connections.

Check the engine troubleshooting chart starting before pulling anything apart. Replace the fuel filter, then bleed air from the Bosch injection pump lines. Pull the injectors and pop-test them; opening pressure must hold 248 to 272 bar (page 20). Torque the injector retaining nuts to 25 Nm on reassembly (page 32).

Verify coolant level cold, then check the fan and coolant pump drive belt: deflection should be 10 to 11 mm under 78 to 98 N load, per page 77. Retension at the alternator and torque the tensioner nut to 55 Nm. Blow chaff out of the radiator core with compressed air and test the thermostat.
