Part of the New Holland Operator Manuals.
Setting up the mechanically controlled hydraulic lift and rear three-point linkage is the hardest ground covered in the New Holland TN60DA, TN70DA, TN75DA operator manual PDF, a 202-page tractor book (OEM 87552825) that widens into Synchro-Command shuttle shifting, PTO operation, differential lock and FWD engagement. A lubrication and maintenance table lays out every service from the 10-hour checks through the 1200-hour or two-year jobs, and troubleshooting charts sort faults by engine, electrical, hydraulic lift, brakes and cab. Ballasting, tire inflation pressures and maximum permitted weights let you match the tractor to your implement before you hitch up. Set clutch pedal travel at 150 ± 2 mm, and torque the rear rim disk locknuts to 217 to 262 N·m (160 to 193 ft. lbs.) whenever a wheel goes back on. Bookmarks find the right section.

New Holland TN60DA, TN70DA, TN75DA Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland TN60DA TN70DA TN75DA engine overheating under load while working in the field
Check coolant only after the engine has cooled. The system is pressurized, so use a cloth and unscrew the cap slowly to release pressure (page 28). Clean a clogged radiator core, top up the expansion tank and tighten leaking hose connectors following page 169. Check fan belt deflection against 10 to 11 mm under a 78 to 98 N load (page 127), and replace a defective radiator cap.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 169Engine cranks over but will not start, or starts with difficulty and then cuts out
Verify the starting procedure: start only from the operator's seat with the transmission in neutral, PTO disengaged and hydraulic controls lowered (page 27). Check the fuel level, bleed air from the fuel system and replace a clogged fuel filter element following page 168. Clean a contaminated fuel system and confirm the fuel type and engine oil viscosity suit the ambient temperature. For an injector fault, contact your dealer.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 168Engine never reaches normal operating temperature and the gauge stays low during field work
Check the thermostat first. Page 169 lists thermostat malfunction for low operating temperature, and the remedy is replacement. Verify the new thermostat is rated to open at approx. 85°C (185°F), per page 147. Let the engine cool, then use a cloth to release radiator cap pressure slowly before you open the cooling system (page 28). A cold engine also burns extra fuel, so fix it before the busy stretch.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 169Battery charge light stays on with the engine running and the batteries are not charging
Check idle speed first and raise it if it is low. Then stop the engine before any service work (page 73), inspect the alternator belt tensioning device and replace a loose or worn belt following page 171. Measure battery charge for at least 12.6 volts, and check electrolyte level and specific gravity. Clean and tighten corroded terminals. If the alternator is at fault, have your dealer check it.
Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting p. 171Three-point hitch lifts slowly in draft control or the linkage lowers too slowly
Adjust the combined draft/position control first, since an incorrect setting is the listed cause of slow lift in draft control on page 173. Check the implement settings as well. Disengage the PTO and shut off the engine before working on the implement or hitch (page 27). If the linkage still lowers slowly, have your dealer check the control valve.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Lift and Three Point Linkage Troubleshooting p. 173Remote hydraulic control does not work and hoses will not join together properly at the couplers
Check that the hoses are connected correctly, check oil flow in the half couplers, and actuate the control levers following page 172. If the problem persists, replace the male couplers. Swap wrong couplers for standard ISO 1/2 connectors from your dealer. If the system is overloaded, reduce the load or use a suitable cylinder so you can get back in the field.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 172Frequently Asked Questions
How do I reset the transmission or hydraulic fault code on a New Holland TN-A tractor?
The transmission can be re-enabled by moving the shuttle lever to the neutral position and/or pressing the clutch pedal fully down. If fault codes are displayed, contact New Holland specialized personnel immediately, as the system indicates faults according to their degree of gravity. p. 63
What are the engine oil and hydraulic/transmission filter replacement specs for the New Holland TN60DA, TN70DA, TN75DA?
After the first 50 hours of work, replace the engine oil in the sump (Operation 22) and the oil filter (Operation 23). Also, replace the transmission and services oil filter (Operation 26) and the hydrostatic steering and auxiliary services filter (Operation 27). p. 119
What are the replacement specifications for air filter elements on the New Holland TN60DA, TN70DA, TN75DA?
The external air filter cartridge should be replaced every year or when cracks appear. Do not wash or blow into the inside of the safety cartridge; it must be replaced together with the external cartridge. p. 129
What is the correct valve clearance for the New Holland TN60DA, TN70DA, TN75DA engine?
The clearance between the valves and the rocker arms for both inlet and exhaust valves is 0.30 ± 0.05 mm (0.01 ± 0.002 in.). This inspection must be carried out when the engine is cold. p. 142
What is the correct fan belt tension?
The tension A of the fan belt should be 10 to 11 mm (0.39 to 0.43 in.) with a load of 78 to 98 N. If the belt is cracked or requires frequent adjustment, it must be replaced. p. 127
