Part of the New Holland Operator Manuals.
Factory settings for New Holland's four T3010 to T3040 tractors, from PTO engagement to service hours, are settled in one 152-page New Holland T3030 operator manual PDF, OEM ID 87289563. Service schedules lay out the 250, 500 and 1000 hour jobs, plus a lubricants table so your oil matches what the transmission and lift were built for. Controls and field operation chapters explain the instrument panel, gears, differential lock, mechanical 4WD, three-point linkage, remote control valves and ballast, while a troubleshooting section sorts engine, electrical, hydraulic lift and brake faults. Set PTO clutch lever idle travel to 25 to 30 mm, and torque front rim-to-disc bolts to 280 Nm after any wheel track change. Bookmarks and a text layer find it fast.

New Holland T3010, T3020, T3030, T3040 Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland T3010 to T3040 tractor diesel engine will not start or only starts with difficulty
Check that the shuttle, main gear, range gear and PTO levers sit in neutral per the starting procedure on page 55, and never spray ether; the tractor has its own cold starting system. Check fuel level, bleed air from the fuel system and replace a clogged fuel filter element. Below 0 °C, mix diesel antifreeze into the fuel per page 57. For an injector fault, contact your dealer.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 123Temperature gauge pointer climbs into the red area and engine overheats under load
Reduce engine speed immediately without stopping the engine (page 29), then shift to a lower gear or reduce the load. Wear face protection and remove the radiator cap only with the engine cold, since the radiator is pressurised when hot (page 19). Top up coolant in the expansion tank, check for leaks, clean the radiator core, and check fan belt tension and the thermostat following page 124.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 124Battery charge light stays on while the engine is running and battery will not charge
Increase idling speed first; a low idle alone keeps the light on. Stop the engine before checking the alternator belt tensioning device, and keep hands clear of belts and pulleys (page 18). Disconnect the battery negative terminal before electrical work (page 19), clean and tighten the terminals, and confirm the battery holds at least 12.6 volts. Still lit? Have your dealer check the alternator.
Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting p. 126Hydraulic fluid overheating or remote control not working when implement hoses are connected
Check the hydraulic oil level and correct it; too high or too low both overheat the fluid. Replace a clogged filter element and set flow regulation to a lower capacity. For remote control failure, connect hoses correctly, actuate the control levers, and replace the male couplers if it persists, following page 127. Wrong male seals need standard ISO 1/2 inch couplers from your dealer. Cap unused couplers with the plastic caps (page 65).
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 127Hydraulic lift operates slowly in draft control or three-point linkage will not move with the lever
Check that the linkage cylinder tubes are connected correctly and reduce the load if the linkage is overloaded, following page 128. For slow response in draft control, adjust the combined draft/position control and the implement settings. If lowering speed stays too slow, have the valves checked so the hitch is ready before the field window closes.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Lift and Three Point Linkage Troubleshooting p. 128Power take-off engagement or disengagement becomes difficult when operating the PTO clutch lever
Switch the engine off, put all gear levers in neutral and apply the handbrake before working on the PTO or a connected implement (page 59). Measure idle travel A at the PTO clutch lever and confirm it is 25 to 30 mm (0.98 to 1.18 in.), following page 105. Always disengage the PTO clutch before selecting rpm, and hold the lever disengaged only as long as the shift takes.

What are the engine oil and engine oil filter replacement specs for the New Holland T3010, T3020, T3030, T3040?
The engine oil filter should be replaced every 250 hours of work (Operation 21, page 104). The engine oil sump should also be drained and refilled at this interval (Operation 20, page 104). The engine oil capacity is 4.7 liters for the T3010 and 5.8 liters for the T3020, T3030, and T3040 models (page 132). p. 104
What are the replacement specifications for the fuel filter on the New Holland T3010, T3020, T3030, T3040?
During the initial running-in period, the fuel filter should be replaced twice, at 100-hour intervals. Following this, the fuel filter should be replaced every 500 hours of work (Operation 24, page 105). p. 105
What is the correct procedure for checking the engine oil level?
Check the oil level on a flat surface with the engine switched off. Allow at least five minutes for the oil to settle in the sump, then remove the dipstick (1), clean it, and reinsert it. The oil level must be within the knurled part of the dipstick (page 94). p. 94
What is the required tension for the fan and alternator belt?
The fan and alternator belt tension should be checked periodically. At the middle point between the coolant pump and the alternator, the belt deflection should be between 10 and 15 mm (page 97). p. 97
How often should the engine coolant be replaced?
It is recommended to replace the engine coolant every year or every 1200 hours of service, whichever occurs first (page 90). p. 90
