Complete hydraulic failure - nothing lifts, no remote flow
Check oil level first, then pull the transmission-hydraulic filter and pickup screen, the two most-replaced items on these tractors. If flow is still dead, follow the Hydraulic Pump and Filter procedures in the Hydraulic Repair section for pump removal, inspection and reinstall, including the 50 N.m pump mounting screw torque on 5-cylinder engines (page 775).

Overheating oil usually traces to a clogged transmission-hydraulic filter, an internal leak dumping high-pressure oil, or misadjusted hitch and SCV linkage. The Hydraulic Repair section covers filter service, selective control valve and rockshaft overhaul so you can find and fix the internal bypass instead of just changing oil.

Rule out low oil and fuel contamination first, then look at injection pump timing and chronic overload. My whole hydraulic system quit - hitch, remotes, steering assist. Does this manual cover it?
It covers the repair side. The usual culprits on these tractors are low oil, a plugged transmission-hydraulic filter, a clogged pickup screen, or an internal high-pressure leak, and the Hydraulic Repair section walks you through pump, filter, rockshaft and control valve removal and overhaul. Does it cover splitting the tractor to get at the clutch and PowrReverser?
Yes, that is the heart of the Power Train section: clutch housing separation, PowrReverser transmission teardown, rear PTO drive shaft, differential and final drives. The critical torques are in the book - the M20 clutch housing-to-engine cap screws call for 430 N.m (317 lb-ft) on page 49, and the flywheel housing-to-clutch housing screws on 4-cylinder units take 260 N.m (192 lb-ft) on page 48. Which engines and horsepower do these three models run?
Straight from the spec pages: the 5325N runs the 5030PF270 turbocharged 5-cylinder 3.0 L diesel rated 50 kW / 67 hp at 2400 rpm (page 34). The 5425N with the 5083EN engine is 60 kW / 81 hp (page 36), and the 5525N with the 5093EN makes 68 kW / 91 hp (page 37). The manual covers engine and cooling system repair for all three. p. 34
Will this book help with hard starting or a no-start diesel?
The Fuel and Air Repair section covers the fuel system, air intake and speed control linkage, so bleeding air, replacing filters and injection pump R&I are all in here. Common causes on these machines are air in the fuel, a clogged fuel filter, a slow starter or the fuel shutoff not reset after running dry. For starter and battery work, that is in Electrical Repair. Structured troubleshooting trees are in the separate Diagnosis and Tests manual.
Does it include cab, air conditioning and 3-point hitch work?
Yes. Operator Station Repair covers seat and support, control console, cab components, the A/C system and heating. Miscellaneous Repair handles the front axle, wheels, 3-point hitch, fenders and hood.
