Test the seat, brake, and PTO interlock switches for continuity using the wiring diagram before condemning the starter. Load-test the battery; a healthy one delivers 295 cold cranking amps at 12 VDC. Pull the spark plug, confirm it is a Champion RC12YC, and set the gap to 0.76 mm (0.030 in.).
