John Deere 325 skid steer starts then dies after a few seconds, stalls under load
Bleed air from the low pressure fuel side and change the fuel filter before chasing the injection pump. Drain any water from the bowl, then run the engine speed test and confirm slow idle holds 1230 to 1370 rpm on page 217. If idle wanders below that, pull and bench test the injectors.

Sit down, buckle the belt, and cycle the park brake switch in order before touching a wrench. Park level, load the bucket, and mark the cylinder rod with a scribe. Measure boom drift over the checkout interval and compare against the 12.7 mm (0.5 in.) maximum on page 198, then repeat for bucket circuit drift against the same 12.7 mm limit on page 201. Exceed either number and reseal the cylinder.

Replace the hydraulic filter and top the reservoir first, since a plugged element starves the pump. Then run a pump flow test: a used 325 pump must still deliver 66.6 L/min (17.6 gpm), and the flow chart on page 734 lists the new typical value of 83.3 L/min (22.0 gpm). Low flow means worn pump.

Jack the side up and check chain tension by hand at the tire tread. Play should sit near 6.35 mm (0.25 in.) at the tread and 5 mm (0.197 in.) up and down on the chain itself per page 581. Adjust the axle, then torque the axle housing nut to 305 N.m (225 lb-ft).
