Part of the John Deere Repair Manuals.
One book, nine machines: TM402619 is the 2014 repair technical manual for the John Deere W540, W550, W650 and W660 walker combines, the T550, T560, T660 and T670, and the C670. The coverage is real, not badge sharing: each series gets its own separator section and each model pair its own specification page. Inside you get engine removal and lower engine repair, diesel fuel and air intake, ProDrive transmission with its hydrostatic pump and motor, HillMaster II, feeder house and slip clutch service, grain tank unloading drives, and R134a cab air conditioning. One thing it does not carry: wiring diagrams live in TM102819. This book gives you harness routing, connector repair and component procedures instead.

John Deere W-Series, T-Series & C670 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Feeder house slip clutch slipping or the conveyor chain jumping under heavy, damp crop.
Pull the feeder house and follow the Conveyor and the Upper Shaft and Slip Clutch procedures in the Feeder House section. It also covers the feeder house drives and reverser gear case, so you can rebuild the clutch properly instead of just tightening it and hoping.
Manual Section: Feeder House - Conveyor, Upper Shaft and Slip Clutch p. 1169Hydrostatic drive feels weak, jerky or will not pull a hill, on both standard and ProDrive machines.
The Power Train section carries dedicated teardown and repair chapters for the hydrostatic pump and hydrostatic motor on ProDrive combines, plus the transmission and differential behind them. Standard hydrostatic system and cam lobe motor procedures are in the same section for the other machines.
Manual Section: Power Train - Hydrostatic Pump and Motor (ProDrive) p. 370Unloading auger drives or gear cases chewed up, grain unloading slow or stopped.
Start in the Grain Tank and Unloading section: it covers the unloading auger system drives, the vertical auger and lower gear case, the horizontal auger and gear case, and the clean grain elevator with its loading auger gear case, from removal through reassembly.
Manual Section: Grain Tank & Unloading - Vertical Auger and Lower Gear Case p. 1723Separator and cylinder drive wear, which shows up differently on each series.
Use the separator section written for your series: straw walkers, crankshafts and walker return pan for the W machines, tine separator module and gear cases for the C670, and separator rotor, beater and grate removal for the T Series. Cylinder drives are covered in the W Series section.
Manual Section: Separator, W Series / Separator, C Series / Separator, T Series p. 1264Frequently Asked Questions
Does this manual include wiring diagrams or hydraulic schematics?
No, and the book says so itself: the wiring diagrams are in a separate publication, TM102819, Section 240. What this manual carries on the electrical side is harness routing, connector repair, batteries, power distribution, and the locations of control units, switches, sensors and electromagnetic valves. Same deal on hydraulics: full repair procedures for pumps, valves, cylinders, motors and accumulators, but no schematic foldouts. p. 317
My combine has ProDrive. Is that transmission actually covered, or just the standard gearbox?
Covered, and not as a footnote. The Power Train section has separate chapters for the transmission and differential on ProDrive machines, plus the hydrostatic motor and hydrostatic pump specific to ProDrive. Brakes and the hydraulic oil reservoir also get their own ProDrive versions. Standard transmission, final drives, cam lobe motor and HillMaster II are in there alongside. p. 370
Nine models in one manual sounds thin. Does the C670 really get its own separator coverage?
It does. There are three separate separator sections, one per series. The C Series section covers beaters, engine gear case to module drives, the tine separator module and its gear cases, shoe supply augers and straw chopper. W Series gets straw walkers, crankshafts and the walker return pan; T Series gets rotor, beater and grate removal. Specs are split by model pair too, so you are not reading averaged numbers. p. 1528
Can I rebuild the feeder house slip clutch and reverser with this book?
Yes. The Feeder House section covers the conveyor, the upper shaft and slip clutch, and the feeder house drives with the reverser gear case. It also handles the HeaderTrak tilt cylinder and frame, and the HillMaster II tilt cylinder and frame for hillside machines. p. 1169
Is the cab air conditioning covered? Mine quits in the middle of harvest.
The Operator's Station section covers the R134a air conditioning system, its components, and the cab itself. You get the repair procedures for the system on all nine machines, which matters because an A/C failure in a dusty September cab is not something you want to guess through. p. 1059
